UP: 70.65 percent of patients aged 51 to 60 years died of corona

Lucknow, 16 December: The number of active cases of corona in the state has now come down to 17,801. There are currently 50,434 fewer cases in the state as compared to the highest level of infection of 68,235 on 17 September.

However, despite an ever-decreasing contamination graph, the increasing cases of the elderly remain a challenge for the health department.

Of the total deaths due to corona in the state, 45.82 percent were aged above 60 and 24.83 percent were aged 51-60 years. Thus, a total of 70.65 percent of patients aged 51 to 60 years of age died.

1.13 percent positivity rate in first fortnight of December

Additional Chief Secretary, Medical and Health Amit Mohan Prasad said on Wednesday that in such a situation it has become very important that more vigilance be taken in the next two months. There is a need to take special care of respiratory-related patients and people of age.

He said that it is a matter of relief that the rate of infection remained very low in the first fortnight of December. The positivity rate in the state from December 1 to December 15 was 1.13 percent, which is at a low level.

1,277 new cases of infection and 1,765 patients recover in 24 hours

He said that 1,277 new cases of infection have been reported in the last twenty four hours. During this time, 1,765 people recovered and discharged. At the same time, a total of 5, 43,344 people in the state have been discharged after recovering. A total of 1, 57,297 samples were investigated in the state in one day yesterday. A total of 2, 18, 44,458 samples have been investigated so far.

7,758 people undergoing treatment in home isolation

He said that currently 7,758 people are in home isolation. A total of 3, 29,863 people have opted for home isolation so far. Of these, 3, 22,105 people have been declared discharged on completion of treatment time. At the same time, 1,835 people are being treated in private hospitals, in addition to this; patients are getting their treatment in government hospitals of L-1, L-2 and L-3.

Surveillance of 14.84 crore population so far

Additional Chief Secretary, Medical and Health said that 14, 84, 14,003 population of 3,04,50,36 houses have been surveyed through 4, 87,516 team days in 1, 74,343 areas through surveillance team in the state.

3,802 people took medical consultation with e-Sanjeevani

He said that people are using e-Sanjeevani portal for medical treatment more than ever. Through e-Sanjeevani, 3,802 people underwent medical consultation in a day yesterday. A total of 2, 76,360 people have received medical consultation on the e-Sanjeevani portal so far.

Transition increased in age group above 60 years

Additional Chief Secretary, Medical and Health informed that so far more than 5, 69,000 people have been infected in the state. Of these total infected people, 3.54 percent of those aged 0–10 years, 9.83 percent of those aged 11–20 years, 25.24 percent of those aged 21–30, 21.35 percent of those aged 31–40, 16.10 percent of those aged 41–50 years, 13.38 percent of those aged 51–60 years and 10.56 percent of those older than 60. Until two months ago, 8.0 percent of people over the age of 60 were infected. However, infection has increased in this age group.

On the other hand, if we talk about the number of deaths due to infection, then 24.83 percent of people aged 51-60 years and 45.82 percent of those aged above 60 have died.

The training of the medical staff to be trained for vaccination has been kicked off. The training of master trainers has been completed. Now training work has started at the district level.
