Return of 55-hr Covid lockdown in UP

Lucknow, July 09: In view of the surging of number of coronavirus cases in Uttar Pradesh, the state government has ordered complete lockdown for three days again from Friday night till July 13.

Under this, all the offices and business establishments in the state will be closed from 10 am to 10 pm on July 10. During this period only necessary services are allowed to continue.

State Chief Secretary Rajendra Kumar Tiwari also issued an order in this regard on Thursday night. It has been said in the order that after reviewing the current status of Covid-19, it has been decided that all the offices, urban and rural haats, markets, vegetable markets and business establishments will remain closed from 10 am to 5 am on July 10 in the state.

The order of the Chief Secretary has exempted essential services and those engaged in this work. Railway movement will continue as before. Roadways buses will be made available for commuters by rail. However, regular bus services within the state of roadways will be restricted for these three days.

It is also mentioned in the order that international and domestic airlines will continue uninterrupted during this period. The ban on highways also will not apply.

The state government will run a cleanliness drive in the state for three days from July 10. This restriction will not be effective on the personnel related to it.
