Lucknow, March 31: The Uttar Pradesh cadre IAS officer Rinku Singh Rahi abruptly resigned from his job on Tuesday. He described this as a moral decision. He is currently associated with the Board of Revenue in Lucknow.

In his resignation letter to the President, Rinku Singh Rahi wrote that he was sidelined eight months ago following an action taken while serving as SDM in Shahjahanpur. Since then, he has been given neither field postings nor dignified assignments. Although he continues to receive a salary, he has been denied opportunities to work and serve the public. Currently, a separate, parallel system is in place.

It is noteworthy that in 2009, while serving as Social Welfare Officer in Muzaffarnagar, Rinku Singh exposed a major scam. He was then attacked, receiving seven bullets, but survived.
