Actor Ranveer Singh’s much-awaited film ‘Dhurandhar-2’ is now set to release in theaters on March 19. Just a day before its release, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has approved the film for release by granting it an ‘A’ certificate. However, the path to this approval was not easy, and several significant modifications have been made to the film.

21 cuts made to violent scenes

According to reports, the board recommended specific modifications to four of the 21 major modifications to the film. These included editing out violent scenes such as gouging out eyes, beheadings, kicking, and hitting the head with a cement block and hammer. Despite the modifications, the film has been given an ‘A’ certificate, making it only available to viewers over 18 years of age.

Additionally, dates related to demonetization have been corrected in the subtitles, and the word “Lahore” has been replaced with “Delhi” in the information text.

Following the Censor Board’s directives, the film’s Indian running time is now 3 hours 49 minutes 36 seconds, compared to approximately 3 hours 51 minutes when submitted for certification. In total, approximately 1.3 minutes of footage was removed, making the Indian version approximately 6 minutes shorter than the foreign version (approximately 3 hours 55 minutes).

A drug warning has also been added to the film. Audiences are already experiencing tremendous excitement about “Dhurandhar 2,” and now, with the censorship clearance, the anticipation for its release has only increased.
