11-member South Korean delegation reaches Ayodhya, pays homage at Queen Heo memorial

Ayodhya, March 10: An 11-member South Korean delegation reached Ayodhya on Tuesday and paid homage at the memorial of Princess Suriratna (also known as Queen Heo Hwang-ok of Gaya State of South Korea).

During this, Mayor Mahant Girish Pati Tripathi along with his wife Rajlaxmi Tripathi welcomed the Korean delegation by presenting them with clothes and a statue of Lord Shri Ram.

During this, the Mayor promised all possible cooperation in the development of Queen Heo Memorial Park. Recently, the memorial has been taken over by the Municipal Corporation from the Tourism Department.

An 11-member delegation from the Republic of South Korea, led by Lee Jin-ok, president of the Incheon Lee Kwan Association, arrived in Ayodhya on Tuesday to reminisce about their paternal grandmother, Queen Heo.

Speaking through an interpreter, the delegation expressed the need for the development of a place of worship at the Queen Heo Memorial Park.

The mayor pledged all possible support for the memorial’s development. He suggested correspondence with the Indian Embassy.

The delegation also announced that a 100-member delegation would visit Ayodhya on October 6 to pay homage to Queen Heo. They invited the mayor to attend an event being held in South Korea in April.
