Strict action in Uttam Nagar (Delhi) murder case: 8th accused held, MCD demolishes illegal portions of accused’s properties

New Delhi, March 8: The Delhi Police has arrested another accused, Imran, in the murder of 26-year-old boy Tarun in Uttam Nagar, Dwarka district. A total of eight accused have been arrested so far in this case.

Based on the statements of the deceased Tarun’s family, the police have also added sections of the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act to the case.

Dwarka District Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Kushal Pal Singh said on Sunday that the arrested accused has been identified as Imran alias Bunty (38), a resident of Hastsal Road, Uttam Nagar. He is the eighth accused to be arrested in this murder case. Police arrested him based on continuous raids and technical investigation.

According to the police, several accused had been arrested in this case before. Based on evidence gathered during the investigation and technical surveillance, the police team also arrested Imran, also known as Bunty. Police say the role of other individuals involved in the incident is also being investigated.

Meanwhile, the administration has also taken a tough stance and initiated action. The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) bulldozed and demolished illegal portions on a properties belonging to Nizamuddin, one of the accused in the case. Officials say this action was taken against illegal construction.

According to the police, the entire dispute began over the throwing of water balloons on Holi, which later escalated into a violent clash. At around 11 pm on March 4, the Uttam Nagar police station received a PCR call reporting a fight between two neighboring families. Police arrived at the scene, but by then, members of both sides had taken to the street and fighting had already begun. Three people from one side and five from the other were injured in the clash. All the injured were admitted to the hospital for treatment.

Among the injured, 26-year-old Tarun was in critical condition. He died the next day during treatment. Following Tarun’s death, the police intensified the investigation by adding murder charges to the case.

So far, the police have arrested a total of eight accused, including seven adults and one minor. Police are also investigating the role of other accused.

Preliminary investigations have revealed that the two families had known each other for nearly 50 years. They had previously clashed repeatedly over minor issues like parking and garbage disposal.

Police say that some anti-social elements are trying to distort the incident, but law and order is fully under control in the area. Police and administrative teams are constantly monitoring the area.

Administrative officials have appealed to the public to ignore rumors and maintain peace. Police say the investigation is ongoing and strict action will be taken against the culprits
