Lucknow, February 28: Keeping in mind the festival of Holi, Uttar Pradesh Director General of Police (DGP) Rajiv Krishna has cancelled the leave of all police personnel. Orders in this regard have been issued to all officers.
According to the DGP’s order, in view of the festival of Holi, all police leave has been cancelled from March 1 to March 7. This decision has been taken to prevent any untoward incident during Holi. Special vigilance is being maintained in all districts of Uttar Pradesh regarding Holi. In such a situation, this step has been taken to ensure full police availability. These instructions have been given to all the Director Generals, ADGs, IGs, DIGs, and SSPs of Uttar Pradesh.
The DGP has also asked police personnel to closely monitor all social media platforms and to keep an eye on misleading news. If anyone tries to spread rumors, immediate action should be taken. Security arrangements should be made in advance at the Holika Dahan sites. Additional forces will be deployed at locations where disputes have occurred in the past.
