Prayagraj, February 27: The Allahabad High Court has stayed the arrest of Swami Avimukteshwaranand in the POCSO case, reserving its order on his anticipatory bail plea while granting interim protection until the verdict is delivered
In fact, Swami Avimukteshwaranand had filed an anticipatory bail plea in the Allahabad High Court to avoid arrest in the case registered under the POCSO Act. His petition was heard on Friday and the High Court reserved the order staying Avimukteshwaranand arrest till the next hearing.
It is noteworthy that in compliance with the order of the Special Judge POCSO Act on the application of Ashutosh Brahmachari, a case has been registered against Avimukteshwaranand under the POCSO Act and other sections in the Jhunsi police station last Sunday. After the case was registered, the Jhansi police have already conducted inquiries into the matter. Statements and medical examinations of the victims have also been conducted.
