New Delhi, February 15: The Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla will represent the Indian government at the swearing-in ceremony of the new government led by Tarique Rahman in Bangladesh on Tuesday.
According to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), the new government will be led by Bangladesh Nationalist Party President Tarique Rahman. Tarique Rahman is going to form the government after winning a majority in the recent elections.
The Ministry said that the Lok Sabha Speaker’s participation in this ceremony reflects the deep and strong friendship between India and Bangladesh. It also shows India’s commitment to the democratic values ββof both countries.
According to the Ministry, India welcomes the formation of the newly elected government in Bangladesh. The two countries have strong ties of shared history, culture and mutual respect.
