Asansol, January 27: Nitin Nabin, who visited West Bengal for the first time since becoming the BJP’s national president, inaugurated the Lotus Fair held in Durgapur in the Koyla Nchal region late Tuesday evening. In his address on the occasion, Nitin Naveen said that it is everyone’s duty to remember the great personalities who gave Bengal’s culture and art a unique identity. He also remembered world-renowned filmmaker Satyajit Ray on this occasion. He said that the efforts being made to promote Bengal’s rich cultural heritage through this fair are commendable. Bengal’s culture has always been at the forefront and has given the country a new direction.
He said that through this fair, an effort is being made to connect the new generation of Bengal with its cultural heritage. Local artists are getting a larger platform, and cottage industries and small businesses are also being encouraged. Praising the BJP’s West Bengal unit for this, he said that the Lotus Fair has not only promoted cultural heritage but also provided new opportunities for small businesses.
Nitin Naveen said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is concerned about Bengal’s progress. His goal is to make India a developed nation by 2047, and for this, Bengal’s development is essential. The Prime Minister’s vision is to create new employment opportunities for the youth by promoting Bengal’s culture, soil, and art.
He appealed to the youth to cultivate patience and perseverance, citing Swami Vivekananda’s quote: “Arise, strive for your goal.” He said that today’s youth will play a crucial role in building a developed India in 2047. He also expressed condolences to those killed in the Anandpur fire, saying that the BJP family stands with all the affected families.
On this occasion, Leader of Opposition Subhendu Adhikari, BJP State President Shamik Bhattacharya, MLA Lakhan Dhuri, District President Dev Tanu Bhattacharya and many senior leaders and workers were present.
