Lucknow, January 26 (HS). Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath hoisted the tricolor at his official residence, 5 Kalidas Marg, on the occasion of Republic Day. Congratulating the people of the state on Republic Day, he said it is a day to fulfill our resolve for a developed India.
In his address, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said, “I heartily congratulate all the citizens of Uttar Pradesh. On this day in 1950, the Constitution of India came into effect. In this 76-year journey, our Constitution has seen many ups and downs. Despite all this, in accordance with our resolve for a united India, from north to south and east to west, we are all seeing a new India today, moving forward with the goal of the pride of every Indian, and the unity and integrity of India. Our Constitution plays a crucial role in this.”
CM Yogi said, “On this occasion, I pay homage to the memory of Mahatma Gandhi, the Father of the Nation, under whose leadership India’s freedom movement reached new heights. I pay homage to the memory of Dr Rajendra Prasad, the first President of the Republic of India, Chairman of the Constituent Assembly of India; Baba Saheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, the architect of the Indian Constitution; Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Iron Man of India, the leader of the revolutionaries; Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, and all those great sons of Mother India who sacrificed everything for the country’s independence, ensured its independence by participating actively in this movement, and sacrificed themselves for the country’s security, both internal and external, in independent India. I pay tribute to all these known and unknown sons of Mother India and pay homage to their memories.”
The Chief Minister said, “We all know that India became independent on August 15, 1947. Before that, elections for the Constituent Assembly of India had been completed.” Following the drafting of the Constitution of India under the leadership of Dr Rajendra Prasad, India adopted its Constitution on November 26, 1949. Today, the entire country celebrates November 26 as Constitution Day.
Yogi reminded that it is the responsibility of every Indian to work with complete faith and dedication towards our Constitution. Because this Constitution of India provides strength in both favorable and adverse circumstances. These lines from the Constitution of India, “We the People of India,” are a new inspiration for everyone. If anyone is the true guardian of the Constitution of India, it is the citizen of India. Every institution, every ministry, and every department must ensure its accountability to that citizen of India. This expresses our dedication to the Constitution.
The CM further said that we all know that whenever we disrespect the fundamental spirit of the Constitution, we are actually disrespecting those great sons of Mother India, on whose strength this country gained independence. This disrespect is not only of the Constitution of India, but also of those great men on whose strength the country gained independence. Therefore, it is our responsibility to work with devotion towards the Constitution. It is a sacred document for us, which will guide us in every adverse situation. From binding India together in unity and integrity to spreading the spirit of justice, fraternity, and equality to every citizen within the country, we must continue this process.
Yogi said that remember these three words: justice, equality, and fraternity. Every citizen should get justice without discrimination, and there should be no discrimination based on caste, creed, or religion within the country. If this atmosphere of mutual equality and fraternity grows throughout the country, no one can stop Prime Minister Modi’s campaign to make India a developed country.
He cited that the concept of a developed India should be a moment of pride for every Indian, as it will not only bring economic prosperity to the country but also bring prosperity to every citizen. Every individual will prosper. But the path to this begins with the lowest rung of society. The journey must be carried forward from our villages, our streets, and through those citizens at the bottom of society.
The Chief Minister said we must move forward with a spirit of self-reliance at every level. Remember the words of the Indian Constitution, about which Prime Minister Modi repeatedly says that these three words played the greatest role in establishing India as the world’s largest democracy.
The CM Yogi Adityanath said that before independence, vicious cycles of social division and division began. Some conspired to divide the country on the basis of caste, region, and some on the basis of language, but these conspiracies did not last long. Whenever there is an attempt to weaken the fundamental spirit of the Constitution, you will notice that this rumbling begins somewhere. They don’t last long. The country’s Constitution inspires us all to unite. If someone says they are above justice, the Constitution, or the system, they are disrespecting the Constitution of India. This cannot be tolerated. Today is a day of renewed inspiration for us to move forward with dedication to this great Constitution of India and to advance our resolve.
Yogi said that all of us, the people of Uttar Pradesh, will have the opportunity to honor the Constitution of India, pay respect to all national heroes, and take the nation’s resolve to greater heights. We once again extend our heartfelt greetings and best wishes to the people of Uttar Pradesh on Republic Day.
