UP court frames charges against late mafia Mukhtar’s son Abbas in CoC violation case

Mau, January 21: Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP) MLA from Mau Sadar seat Abbas Ansari appeared in the court of the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) today in the case of code of conduct (CoC) violation during the Uttar Pradesh Assembly Elections 2022.

The court has framed charges in this case. Abbas Ansari was produced in the court on Wednesday amid tight security arrangements. Abbas Ansari is the son of late mafia Mukhtar Ansari.

What we know about the case

In the case of code of conduct violation during the Assembly polls 2022, crime number 27/2022 was registered against Abbas Ansari in South Tola police station under three sections. 171 H 188 IPC 133 Representation of the People Act. Abbas Ansari filed a case against this in the High Court.

However, the court dismissed the case, stating that sections 171 and 188 were not offenses. Charges were framed today under sections 133 of the Representation of the People Act. The court has kept the file for evidence. The administration claimed that Ansari was campaigning without permission and violating the code of conduct by using hired vehicles. The case was filed for violating the code of conduct.

The court has prohibited him from giving statements. Therefore, he refused to answer any questions asked by the media.
