4 of a family including 20-year-old girl killed in broad daylight in Etah

Etah, January 19: The killing of four members of a family in broad daylight in the city police station area of โ€‹โ€‹Etah district in Uttar Pradesh has sent shockwaves through the city.

The police said that upon getting the information about the incident, police officials inspected the scene, and the forensic team collected evidence from the scene. The police are investigating.

The Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP), Shwetabh Pandey, said that an elderly man, his wife, daughter-in-law, and granddaughter, who were living in a house in Nagla Premi village under the Kotwali Nagar police station, were killed by an unknown assailant who entered the house during the day and struck them with bricks. In this incident, elderly Ganga Singh (75), his daughter-in-law Ratna (wife of Kamal Singh) (45), and granddaughter Jyoti (20) died on the spot. Ganga Singh’s wife, Shyama Devi (70), was rushed to Medical College, Etah, in critical condition, but she also died during treatment.

The Kotwali police, along with Additional Superintendent of Police Shwetabh Pandey and City Circle Officer Rajesh Singh, also arrived at the scene. A forensic team and dog squad arrived at the scene and collected necessary evidence. The motive for the murder remains unclear. There is speculation that someone close to the family committed the crime.

The ASP Shwetabh Pandey stated that an unknown person entered the home and murdered four people. Information regarding the incident is being gathered, and the case will be solved at the earliest
