Firozabad, January 16: A minivan lost control and collided with a divider on the Agra-Lucknow Expressway on Friday in Firozabad district of Uttar Pradesh due to a tyre burst. Seven devotees from Maharashtra were injured in the accident. Four of them were seriously injured and were sent to Saifai Mini PGI.
Police are investigating the incident
A mini bus suddenly lost control and collided with a divider near the 74 kilometer milestone on the Lucknow-Agra Expressways after a tyre burst. Upon receiving the information, the police station along with the UPDA team reached the spot and kicked off rescue operations. The accident was so severe that seven people were injured. Police referred four seriously injured people to Mini PGI Saifai, while three others were admitted to a hospital in Sirsaganj. All the injured devotees are residents of Maharashtra, who were on a tour of India and were heading to Mathura after visiting Lord Shri Ram in Ayodhya. Sirsaganj police arrived at the scene, restored traffic, and removed the damaged vehicle from the expressway.
The seriously injured include Laxmi Bai (70), wife of Shri Narayan, Pratibha (70), wife of Andalu, Sahib Rai (90), Nandkishore, son of Haribhau Vamre, and Lilavati (70), wife of Saheb Rao. All of them are residents of various places in Maharashtra.
Additional Superintendent of Police (Rural), Anuj Chaudhary, stated that a minibus collided with a divider due to a tire burst, injuring seven devotees. Four of these devotees were sent to Saifai Hospital due to their critical condition. The remaining injured were admitted to the hospital here. An investigation is underway and legal action is being taken.
