Kartik Aaryan and Ananya Pandey’s film ‘Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri’ faltered on the opening day of its release. Despite massive promotions and a star cast and made of a whopping โน 90 crore budget, the film failed to attract moviegoers to theatres. The biggest reason for this was Ranveer Singh’s film ‘Dhurandhar’, whose meteoric earnings are making new releases unable to match it.
Average earnings on the first day
According to a report by Sacnilk, ‘Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri’ grossed only โน 7.50 crore on the first day. Surprisingly, there was no significant jump in the opening day earnings as compared to the advance booking figures. Even the Christmas holidays did not benefit the film much.
‘Dhurandhar’ shines on Christmas too
Ranveer Singh, Akshaye Khanna’s ‘Dhurandhar’ has been maintaining a strong hold at the box office since its release on December 5. The film performed well on Christmas Day, earning โน26.50 crore (approximately three times the earnings of Kartik-Ananya’s film). So far, the film has grossed approximately โน633 crore (approximately $1.6 billion) in India.
‘Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri’ has received mixed reviews from audiences and critics. The film also stars veteran actors like Neena Gupta, Jackie Shroff, and Aruna Irani in pivotal roles. However, its weak storyline has emerged as the film’s biggest weakness. Directed by Sameer Vidwans of “Satyprem Ki Katha” fame, it is produced under Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions banner.
