BJP emerges number one in Maharashtra Local Body polls

Mumbai, December 21: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has emerged number one in the municipal elections in Maharashtra. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has won 129 of the 288 mayoral elections in the state, establishing itself as the number one party in the state.

Furthermore, the Shiv Sena (Shinde) has won 51 mayoral elections, becoming the second-largest party. The Nationalist Congress Party NCP (AP) has won 35 mayoral seats, while the Congress Party has won 35. In this election, the Shiv Sena (UBT) has won 9, the NCP (SP) has won 7, and 22 independent mayors have been elected.

Municipal elections were held in Maharashtra on December 2, and counting is underway this morning. The mayoral elections have concluded, while the counting of votes for councilors is ongoing. In the mayoral elections, Minister Jayakumar Rawal’s mother Nayankunwar Rawal and all the councillors have been elected without any opposition to the post of mayor in Dondai Municipality of Dhule district.

In Jamner Municipality of Jalgaon district, Minister Girish Mahajan’s wife Sadhna Mahajan has already been elected without any opposition to the post of mayor. Similarly, Prajakta Patil, daughter-in-law of former MLA Rajan Patil, has been elected without any opposition to the post of mayor in Angar Municipality.
