Saharanpur, December 21: The Special Task Force (STF) killed Siraj, a wanted criminal with a reward of ₹ 1 lakh, in an encounter in Gangoh, Saharanpur. Siraj was absconding in connection with a famous murder case in Sultanpur district and had been wanted by the police for a long time.

During the encounter, Siraj opened fire on the STF team, and was killed in retaliatory action.
Late Saturday night, the STF received intelligence that Siraj was planning to commit a crime in the Gangoh area. Upon receiving the information, the STF team cordoned off the area and began intensive checking. A suspicious biker was signaled to stop, but he opened fire. He was shot dead in retaliatory action by the STF. The
slain criminal, Siraj, was a highly skilled criminal. Nearly 30 criminal cases were registered against him, including murder, robbery, dacoity, illegal weapons possession, and the Gangster Act. Since the Sultanpur massacre, he has been constantly changing locations and eluding the police. The UP police had announced a reward of ₹1 lakh for his arrest.
