UP Assembly adjourned until Monday after condolences

Lucknow, December 19: The Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly session began on Friday. Proceedings in both houses, the Legislative Assembly and the Legislative Council, commenced at 11 am.

As the Assembly commenced with the singing of Vande Mataram, Leader of the House, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, moved a condolence motion in the House on the passing of MLA Sudhakar Singh. Leaders of all parties expressed condolences, and the House adjourned until 11am on Monday, December 22.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath stated in the House that Sudhakar Singh had been elected to the Assembly for the third time from Mau district. He was also a democracy fighter and had contributed to social service. His untimely demise is an irreparable loss to society.

Leader of the Opposition Mata Prasad Pandey said that he had struggled since his youth and was always engaged in social service. That is why winning the election for the third time was a huge victory. He was a leader of our party. His passing has caused a loss to our party. We all express our deepest condolences to his family.

Congress Party leader Aradhana Mishra Mona, Nishad Party’s Dr Sanjay Nishad, Bahujan Samaj Party leader Umashankar Singh, and leaders from other parties remembered the late MLA Sudhakar Singh.
