Gorakhpur, December 10: At the main festival of the 93rd Founder’s Week celebration of the Maharana Pratap Education Council, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath emotionally remembered his grandfather, the founder of the council, and his Gurudev, its expander.

He said that the Maharana Pratap Education Council, which was sown by Mahant Digvijaynath Ji Maharaj in 1932 and nurtured and blossomed by Gurudev Mahant Avaidyanath Ji Maharaj, has today become a huge banyan tree.

CM Yogi said that the foundation of the education council was based on devotion to the guru. Born in the Mewar dynasty, Digvijaynath Ji Maharaj, who dedicated his life to the country and religion, came to Gorakhpur at the age of five. His education progressed at the Gorakshapeeth. The

Chief Minister explained that around 1930-31, a situation arose where Digvijay Nath Maharaj’s teacher was expelled from the school where he taught. When he learned of this, he founded the school to honor his teacher, which today stands before us as the towering tree of the Maharana Pratap Shiksha Parishad.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath stated that the names of great men inspire in times of crisis. Maharana Pratap Shiksha Parishad has integrated education with nationalism and values to create a medium for holistic development. From day one, the Maharana Pratap Shiksha Parishad has moved forward with this mission. The goal was to continually remember a great warrior like Maharana Pratap, dedicated to his country and religion.

Chief Minister said that whenever the country is in crisis, whenever religion faces a crisis, every Indian invokes the names of Maharana Pratap, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, and Guru Govind Singh Maharaj with reverence and complete faith. These names are always an inspiration in facing challenges. –The institution should become a factor of public welfare, not pride. When the country was bound in the chains of slavery, Mahant Digvijay Nath sowed the seeds of Maharana Pratap Shiksha Parishad with the aim of knowing what kind of education and ideals we need to free ourselves from the shackles of slavery.

Yogi added further that he believed that the institution should become a factor of public welfare, not pride. This is the reason that when it came to establishing a university in Gorakhpur, Goraksha Peeth and Maharana Pratap Shiksha Parishad came forward and gave their institutions to the state government. This made Gorakhpur University possible. –The Shiksha Parishad is also sensitive towards technical and women’s education.
