Moradabad, December 8: During Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s visit to Moradabad on Monday, women from the Bhojpur police station area of โ€‹โ€‹the district have created a ruckus. They were protesting over the failure to arrest the accused of molesting a minor girl and assaulting her family after they complained, and demanded justice.

They alleged that despite a case being registered, the police were not taking action.

When Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath arrived at the Circuit House today, women from the family of a teenage girl from a village in the Bhojpur police station area gathered at the gate.

The women said that the minor girl had alleged that some young men from the neighborhood had molested her while she was alone at home on October 16. When they protested, the accused threatened them and fled. When the family lodged a complaint against the accused’s family, they were being assaulted. On November 27, a case was registered against 10 named individuals and some unidentified individuals in this incident. The family alleges that even after the case was filed, the police did not arrest any of the accused.

They began shouting slogans demanding the arrest of the accused. During the commotion, the minor’s mother and another woman fainted and fell on the road.

The Superintendent of Police city Kumar Ranvijay Singh stated that the two women involved in the commotion were taken to the Mahila Thana police station. Later, the other women were also persuaded and removed from there. This matter will be probed.ย
