Lucknow, December 8: Anamika Singh, a 2004 batch IAS officer of the Uttar Pradesh cadre, has decided to take voluntary retirement (VRS). This news has become a topic of discussion in administrative circles as she was originally due to retire in the year 2038, meaning she still has 13 years of service left.

Originally from Fatehpur, IAS officer Anamika Singh (47) has held important positions, including Director of the NITI Aayog. Her reputation in the administrative service has been that of a capable and proactive officer.

She has served as the District Magistrate of Chitrakoot and Unnao. Recently, she was appointed Commissioner of the Bareilly Division.

However, the matter made headlines when there was no news of her arrival in Bareilly even after two days. Subsequently, the order was changed. Although she wanted to go on central deputation, she could not go due to a lack of NOC.

It is believed that this angered her greatly, and it may have been a significant reason for her voluntary retirement. Anamika Singh’s VRS application is currently pending approval.
