Chief Minister meets 23 trainee officers of the 2023 and 2024 batches of IPS
Lucknow, December 1: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has given the mantra of “communication, sensitivity, and positivity” to the trainee officers of the 2023 and 2024 batches of the Indian Police Service (IPS) to become successful, effective, and citizen-centric police officers.
During a formal meeting with the 23 trainee officers on Monday, Chief Minister Yogi said that a vast state like Uttar Pradesh poses challenges for the police. Therefore, consider the trainee period a golden opportunity to learn, understand, and strengthen your policing model.
The Chief Minister said that during training in the districts, it is most important to learn how to effectively and satisfactorily solve real-life problems. He emphasized that the police are always the first responders. The victim’s trust depends on their promptness, language, and priorities.
The Chief Minister advised the trainees to thoroughly understand the nature of the police station, its administration, investigations, duty management, and local disputes during their training period. The
Chief Minister emphasized that the police station is the foundation of good policing. Human intelligence remains a police officer’s most powerful weapon. Communication with local people, field presence, and trust strengthen them. The
Chief Minister emphasized the importance of understanding the functions, resources, and challenges of the police station, circle, and police lines. He said that coordination between these three levels strengthens a district’s security system.
Regarding interactions with public representatives, the Chief Minister emphasized that these interactions should be dignified and restrained. A casual approach is not appropriate for a police officer. Public representatives are the voice of the people; coordination with them makes law and order more effective. The
Chief Minister particularly weighted the need to increase vigilance against crimes against women, cybercrime, and illegal drug networks.
He said that the nature of crime is rapidly changing, so your response and preparation must be equally modern and quick. Learn digital forensics, cyber tools, and the efficient use of technology.
He told the trainee officers that integrity, discipline, and a humane approach are the greatest assets in police service. Your conduct will not only shape law and order in the years to come, but will also strengthen the state’s security and public confidence.
