Ayodhya, November 25: At the “Dhwajarohan Utsav” (flag-hoisting ceremony) atop of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple in Ayodhya, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that if the country is to progress, it must be proud of its heritage. Ram must be enshrined within us.

He also recalled the sacrifices and contributions made in the temple’s construction.

In his address after hoisting the flag at the summit of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple in Ayodhya on Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke extensively about Ram, the Ram Temple, Ram Rajya, and the flag. He said that today the city of Ayodhya is witnessing a cultural awakening. With the hoisting of the flag at the temple, the entire world is filled with Ram. Centuries of wounds are healing. Centuries of pain are coming to an end today. Centuries of resolve are being fulfilled. The fire has been burning for five hundred years. That resolve has not been broken even for a single moment.

Prime Minister Modi said of the flag installed atop the Ram Temple, “It’s not just a flag, but a flag of religious awakening. The tree depicted on the flag symbolizes “Ram Rajya”. This flag will invoke the call of ‘Satyameva Jayate,’ meaning victory is for righteousness, not falsehood. Religion is established in truth. This flag will establish a religious faith, one that lives but promises should not be broken. It will establish peace and happiness in society, reminding us that no one should be unhappy or poor in society. Those who cannot visit the temple, even if they salute the temple flag from afar, will receive the same merit. This flag will provide a glimpse of the Ram Temple and will spread the message of Ram Rajya to all humanity for ages to come.”

Modi said, “Today, I salute all the devotees who contributed to the construction of the Ram Temple.”

He expressed his gratitude to the workers involved in the temple’s construction. He said that this Ayodhya showed the world how a person becomes the best man through the power of society. When Ram left Ayodhya, he was a crown prince, but upon his return, he became the most dignified man. The guidance of saints and sages, the bravery of Hanuman, the friendship of Nishad, and the devotion of Mother Shabari all contributed to this. The temple of Mother Shabari is also built here. The temple of Nishadraj, a symbol of friendship, is also built in this courtyard. Thus, the Sapta Mandir has been built here. I appeal to the devotees coming here to visit the Sapta Mandir.

Prime Minister Modi said that we must work with a visionary thinking. For this, we must learn from Ram. Ram means ideals, dignity, the supreme power of life, a person who follows the path of righteousness, puts the well-being of the people above all else, the pinnacle of knowledge and wisdom, chooses good company, humility, a resolve for truth, is aware, disciplined, and honest. Ram is a value and dignity. If we want to develop India by the year 2047, we must awaken Ram within us.

Questioning Macaulay’s thinking, he said that the mentality of slavery had become so dominant that some people even began calling Ram imaginary. Today, Ayodhya is regaining its glory. It will serve as a guide to the world. This Ayodhya is emerging as the backbone of a developed India.
