New Delhi, November 20: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested Shameem KK, the absconding accused in the 2020 Abu Dhabi double murder case, from Chennai. The accused had been on the run since 2022.

According to the CBI, the case relates to the murder of Indian nationals Haris Tattamparambil and Densi Antony in Abu Dhabi on March 5, 2020. Both were found dead in their flat and the case was initially ruled a suicide. Later, investigations revealed that it was a premeditated murder.

Shamim KK was a friend and business partner of the main accused, Shabin Ashraf Haris. Out of business jealousy and the intention to usurp Haris’s property, Shabin Ashraf conspired with the other accused. He sent the other accused to Abu Dhabi by giving them money and got Harris and Dancy murdered so that it could be shown as a suicide.

The case was transferred to the CBI on the orders of Kerala High Court. CBI registered the case on 03 November 2022 and issued a look out circular against the absconding Shamim KK.

On 10 October 2024, the CBI filed a charge sheet against a total of 08 accused including Shabin Ashraf, in which Shamim KK was also included.
