Red Fort blast: NIA arrests Amir Rashid Ali, associate of suicide bomber Umar Nabi

New Delhi, November 16: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested Amir Rashid Ali, a resident of Kashmir, in connection with the car bomb blast that occurred in the Red Fort area of โ€‹โ€‹the capital Delhi on November 10., as per the NIA.

Rashid, along with alleged suicide bomber Umar Un Nabi, conspired to carry out the attack. More than 10 people were killed and 32 were injured in the blast.

According to the NIA, the investigation revealed that the car used in the blast was registered in the name of Amir Rashid Ali. Forensic tests confirmed that the driver of the explosive-laden vehicle was Umar Un Nabi. Umar was a resident of Pulwama district and worked as an assistant professor in the Department of General Medicine at Al Falah University in Faridabad.

According to the NIA, the national investigative agency has also seized another vehicle belonging to Umar Un Nabi. This vehicle is also being closely examined for evidence in the investigation. To date, 73 witnesses, including those injured in the blast, have been questioned.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) is conducting investigations in several states in collaboration with the Delhi Police, Jammu and Kashmir Police, Haryana Police, Uttar Pradesh Police, and other relevant agencies. The agency is pursuing several key leads to uncover the larger conspiracy behind the blast and identify other individuals involved.

The NIA investigation also revealed that Amir Rashid Ali, along with the suicide bomber, planned the blast and traveled to Delhi to assist in purchasing the car and preparing the explosives.

According to the NIA, the arrest of Amir Rashid Ali will significantly strengthen further investigations in the case and facilitate the apprehension of other potential accomplices.
