Cricket World Cup star Deepti Sharma arrives in Lucknow, meets CM Yogi

Lucknow, November 14: Team India all-rounder Deepti Sharma, who made headlines with her stellar performance in the Women’s Cricket World Cup, arrived in her home district of Lucknow on Friday. She received a warm welcome upon arrival.

She then paid a courtesy call on Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and the Director General of Police (DGP) Rajeev Krishna. During the meeting, the Chief Minister praised Deepti’s athletic skills, discipline, and her crucial role in the team’s success in the recent World Cup.

In a brief conversation with the media, Deepti Sharma said that the challenges faced during the World Cup strengthened the players. She explained that the tournament started poorly, but the team rallied and bounced back, and winning the trophy for the country was a proud moment.

Deepti said that the support of the Indian fans and the team’s confidence played a key role in overcoming difficult circumstances. Every player gave their 100%, and this was the basis of our victory.

Regarding the performance against strong teams like Australia, she said that patience and strategy in the decisive matches boosted the team’s morale. Upon arriving in Lucknow, he also gave the state’s young players a message to continue working hard for their dreams. The city was filled with excitement to welcome the World Cup-winning player, and several local sports organizations have begun preparations to organize events in her honor.
