Sambhal, November 6: The hearing in the Shahi Jama Masjid vs Harihar Temple dispute was held in the civil court in Sambhal district of Uttar Pradesh on Thursday.
During the hearing, the lawyers of both the sides presented their arguments in the court of Chandausi’s Civil Judge Senior Division Aditya Singh. After this, the court has fixed December 3 for the next hearing.
Advocate Shakeel Ahmed Warsi of the Muslim side said that the appeal related to this dispute is still pending in the Supreme Court. The hearing is to be held there on November 7.
Advocate Gopal Sharma of the Hindu side said that due to the stay order in the Supreme Court, the lower court has fixed the date of December 3.
It is worth noting that the last hearing in this case was held on September 25. The dispute began on November 19, 2024, when eight individuals, including advocates Harishankar Jain and Vishnu Shankar Jain, filed a petition on behalf of the Hindu side, claiming that the Shahi Jama Masjid was built on the remains of the ancient Harihar Temple.
