PM Modi mentions ‘Swadeshi’, cleanliness, health and ‘Shri Ram Mandir’ in his Diwali greetings

New Delhi, October 21: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while extending his greetings to all the countrymen on the occasion of Diwali, urged us to light the lamp of harmony, cooperation, and positivity in society and around us.

He said, “Diwali also teaches us that when one lamp lights another, its light does not diminish, but rather increases.” In

his letter to the countrymen on Diwali, the Prime Minister mentioned the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, Operation Sindoor, the end of Naxalism, the GST celebration, and the adoption of Swadeshi.

He urged us to respect all languages, maintain cleanliness, prioritize our health, reduce oil use in our food by 10 percent, and adopt yoga. All these efforts will lead us towards a rapidly developed India.

The Prime Minister said that this is the second Diwali after the grand construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. Lord Shri Ram teaches us religion and gives us the courage to fight injustice. We saw a vivid example of this a few months ago during Operation Sindoor. During Operation Sindoor, India not only protected Dharma but also avenged injustice.

Referring to the progress towards the elimination of Naxalism, he said that for the first time this Diwali, lamps will be lit in many remote districts across the country. Naxalite terrorism has been eradicated from these districts. In recent times, many people have abandoned the path of violence and joined the mainstream of development. This is a major achievement for the country.

Speaking at the GST Savings Festival, the Prime Minister said that in a world grappling with crises, India has emerged as a symbol of both stability and sensitivity. The country has also recently initiated next-generation reforms. Lower GST rates were implemented on the first day of Navratri. During this savings festival, citizens are saving thousands of crores of rupees.

Emphasizing the adoption of Swadeshi, the Prime Minister said that in the journey towards a developed and self-reliant India, our primary responsibility as citizens should be to fulfill our duties towards the nation. He said, โ€œLet us adopt ‘Swadeshi’ (local products) and proudly say ‘This is Swadeshi!’ Let us promote the spirit of ‘Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat’.
