Rishab Shetty’s starrer ‘Kantara Chapter 1’ is currently making unprecedented earnings at the box office, registering new records with each passing day. Released on October 2, the film has now completed 11 days, but its popularity hasn’t diminished at all. Audiences are so enamored with the film that every show is going housefull. The overwhelming love and positive word of mouth have made this film a blockbuster.
According to preliminary figures from Sacnilk, ‘Kantara Chapter 1’ grossed ₹39 crore on its second Sunday, i.e., the 11th day. Notably, the film had earned ₹39 crore on the 10th day as well. With steady collections for two consecutive days, it has further strengthened its hold at the box office.
The film’s total Indian earnings have reached ₹478.65 crore (approximately $1.2 billion), surpassing landmark films like Prabhas’ “Baahubali: The Beginning” (₹420 crore) and Aamir Khan’s “Dangal” (₹387.38 crore).
Furthermore, “Kantara Chapter 1” has surpassed the lifetime collections of Prabhas’s “Salaar: Part 1” (₹406 crore), Rajinikanth’s “Jailor” (₹348.55 crore), and Ranbir Kapoor’s “Sanju” (₹342.57 crore).
With earnings at this phenomenal pace, the film’s next target is Vicky Kaushal’s mega-blockbuster “Chaava,” which surpassed the ₹600 crore mark at the domestic box office.
Given the audience’s fervor and the film’s immense success, it’s safe to say that “Kantara Chapter 1” has emerged as the biggest cinematic triumph of the year.
