Lucknow police foils suicide bid of Barabanki man

Lucknow, October 13: A man, Shivam Verma, attempted suicide on Monday in the poshest area of โ€‹โ€‹Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh. Police arrived at the scene, rescued him, and admitted him to the civil hospital. It is alleged that the youth took this step due to dissatisfaction with the police department’s action.

Aditya Singh, outpost in-charge of Bandariya Bagh under Gautampalli police station, said that Shivam Verma, a resident of Fatehpur Ujarbara village in Barabanki, reached the Vikramaditya Marg intersection on Monday afternoon and set himself on fire by pouring inflammable material on himself.

Upon receiving the information, the outpost in-charge reached the spot with the police force and took the youth to Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherji (Civil) Hospital for treatment, where Shivam is undergoing treatment.

Preliminary investigation revealed that Shivam had filed a case at Fatehpur police station in Barabanki. The investigating officer has filed a charge sheet in the court. Frustrated by the failure to arrest the accused in this case, Shivam attempted suicide. The outpost in-charge stated that the Barabanki police have been informed of this matter.
