Prayagraj, October 01: The slain Mafia Atiq Ahmed’s son Ali Ahmed was shifted to Jhansi jail on government orders from Naini Central Jail, Prayagraj in view of security, apprised Jail Superintendent Vijay Vikram Singh on Wednesday.
He said that late on Tuesday evening, instructions were received from the government that Ali, son of late Atiq Ahmed, who was lodged in Naini Jail, should be shifted from here to Jhansi jail. In compliance with the instructions, he was shifted from here to Jhansi jail under tight security.
It is noteworthy that several cases including kidnapping and extortion were registered against Ali Ahmed. Since then, he was lodged in Naini jail. Ali was kept in solitary confinement in Naini jail after the Umesh Pal murder case.
A few days ago, money and other items were recovered from Ali inside the jail. In this case, action has been taken against the jail warden and jailer.
Sources indicate that the names of slain mafia Atiq Ahmed’s family have been linked to the recent Bareilly incident. As a result, Ali was transferred to Jhansi jail.
