Lucknow, September 24: The Lucknow Police Commissionerate has cancelled the leave of all police personnel until October 4 in view of the Hindu festivals Navratri and Dussehra.
However, in exceptional circumstances, police personnel may be granted leave after obtaining permission from their superior officer.
Joint Police Commissioner (Law and Order) Bablu Kumar issued an order in this regard.
The official order states that this decision has been taken to maintain security and law and order in the district in view of the festivals of Shardiya Navratri and Vijayadashami. All police personnel posted in the Lucknow Police Commissionerate will not be granted leave from September 22 to October 4.
It further tells that leave will be granted only in an emergency or special circumstances. Even in such circumstances, subordinates will have to inform their high-ranking officers and their permission is required.
