Moradabad, September 21: Five people including four women who pelted stones at the police team that had come to arrest the accused of cow slaughter in Mundha Pande police station area of โโMoradabad district in Uttar Pradesh have been arrested. Pistol and cartridges have also been recovered from the arrested accused, police said.
Superintendent of Police (City) Kumar Ranvijay Singh said on Sunday that Majid Ali alias Allamehar, Zainab, Shabisha, Aamna, and Noor, residents of village Khanpur, were arrested late Saturday night.
He said that to arrest Majid, the police team raided the house of accused Muskan, who lives in the area, on Friday. During this, the accused and the family members of the accused, along with the neighbours, abused the police personnel, pushed them and blocked the road.
During this, the accused Majid started running away from the spot, so the police chased him. On this, the accused opened fire on the police team. After this, the people present in the crowd started throwing bricks and stones already kept in the house, in which several policemen were injured. Taking cognizance of this incident, the police started identifying the accused. So far, five people including four women have been arrested; the search for others is ongoing.
