7 women held for misbehaving with passersby in Varanasi

Varanasi, 05 September: The Varanasi police has arrested seven women for misbehaving with passersby on the complaints of shopkeepers at Cantt Railway station.

Inspector in charge of Sigra police station area in Varanasi, Sanjay Mishra told reporters that seven women have been arrested on complaints of shopkeepers in the Englishia Line area from Cantt Railway Station.

He told that these women, coming from rural areas of Varanasi and nearby districts, used to quarrel with passersby on Station Road and misbehave with people. They also used to take people towards prostitution by making them behave indecently in front of them.

Inspector in charge told that initial investigation has revealed that they are not members of any gang, but used to gather separately in the Cantt area to do this work. They have been arrested under sections of disturbing the peace of the area and strict action is being taken.
