New Delhi, September 2: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday attacked the Congress and the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and said that they have insulted my late mother and this is not only an insult to my mother but also to crores of mothers, sisters and daughters of the country. The
Prime Minister said in an emotional speech that he can personally forgive political rivals, but the people of Bihar will never tolerate the insult of my mother.
Prime Minister Modi launched the Bihar State Jeevika Nidhi Credit Cooperative Union Limited through video conferencing. On this occasion, he also transferred an amount of Rs 105 crore to the bank account of the institution. Lakhs of women were present in the program, while interacting with whom the Prime Minister became emotional many times.
At the beginning of his address, the Prime Minister said that the land of Bihar is a land that worships the mother power. Here, traditions like Chhath Mahaparva and Satbahini Puja are symbols of respect for women. In such a pious state, derogatory words were used for his late mother from the stage of Congress and RJD. He said, “This is not only an insult to my mother. This is an insult to every mother, every sister and every daughter of the country. The children of Mother India can never tolerate this.”
Modi stressed, “I can forgive RJD-Congress, but the people of Bihar will never forgive them for insulting my mother. The land of India has never tolerated the insult of a mother. Therefore, Congress-RJD should apologize to the seven sisters and Chhathi Maiya. Mothers and sisters should come out in the field and seek answers from them.”
Remembering his mother Hiraben Modi, the Prime Minister said that she lived a simple and struggling life till the age of 100. She stayed away from politics, but it was her blessings that led me forward on the path of serving the country.
Getting emotional, Modi said, โMy mother never asked for anything for herself. She used to worry about getting the roof repaired before the rains, she used to do penance every day for us. She used to go to work even when she was sick. She bore every pain for our family. Abusing the penance of such a poor mother is an insult not only to my mother but to crores of mothers.โ
The Prime Minister said that he entered politics very late, but he was engaged in social service since childhood. He said, โMy mother blessed me and told me to go and serve the countrymen. That mother, who is no longer in this world, was abused from the stage of Congress-RJD. Seeing tears in the eyes of mothers and sisters, today I also had to share my grief with all of you.โ
Attacking Congress and RJD, Modi said that people from famous families cannot understand the pain of the poor and the backward. He said, โThese famous people were born with a silver spoon in their mouth. They think that power is their inheritance, but when the public made the son of a poor mother the chief servant, they could not digest it. That is why sometimes I was called ‘lowly’, sometimes ‘worm of dirty drain’ and sometimes ‘poisonous snake’. And now even my late mother is being abused.โ
The Prime Minister said that this mentality towards women is old. He said, โDuring the rule of RJD, when crime was rampant, women had to suffer the most. Murderers and rapists used to roam freely under political protection. Women used to feel unsafe in stepping out of the house. Congress and RJD have always tried to suppress the power of women. This is the reason why they also opposed women reservation.โ
He said that Congress has been continuously insulting tribal daughter and the President of the country Draupadi Murmu. This is the politics of hatred and arrogance towards women. At the end of his speech, the Prime Minister also gave several slogans while appealing to the women. He said, “We will not tolerate abuse of mother, we will not tolerate attack on our honour. We will not tolerate atrocities of RJD, we will not tolerate attacks of Congress. We will not tolerate insult of mother, we will not tolerate insult of women power of the country.”
Modi said that the top priority of his government is the empowerment of mothers and sisters. Schemes like Har Ghar Nal, Ayushman Bharat Yojana, free ration, Lakhpati Didi and Drone Didi are big steps in this direction. Referring to the upcoming Navratri and the worship traditions of Bihar, he said that this state is a state that worships the mother power. In such a situation, Congress-RJD will have to apologize to mothers and sisters.
During the program, the Prime Minister also gave the slogan of “Har Ghar Swadeshi” and said that the whole country including Bihar has to move forward strongly on the path of self-reliant India.
It is noteworthy that recently a video of abusive words being spoken against Prime Minister Modi from a stage during the ‘Voter Rights Yatra’ in Darbhanga city had surfaced. Congress and RJD leaders were present on this stage. BJP is attacking on this incident.
