Explosion in a firecracker factory in Lucknow, 2 killed, many injured

Lucknow, 31 August: An explosion took place in a firecracker factory in Gudamba police station area of โ€‹โ€‹โ€‹โ€‹Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh, on Sunday morning. Two people died and five people were injured in the massive explosion.

The police reached the spot after getting the information and started rescue operation. Administrative officers have also reached the spot.

District Magistrate Visakh G. Iyer said that a massive explosion has taken place in an illegal firecracker factory running in a house in Behta Bazar area of โ€‹โ€‹โ€‹โ€‹Gudamba police station area. Alam and his wife died in this accident. Five other people have been injured in the accident, out of which two are in critical condition. After getting the information, the SDRF, NDRF and police team reached the spot and carried out relief and rescue work and the injured were taken to KGMC hospital.

Assistant Police Commissioner Anindya Vikram Singh said that the explosion took place in the house where the firecracker factory was being operated. Two people have died and some people have been injured in this incident. Alam’s entire house has been razed to the ground and nearby houses have developed cracks. The reason for the explosion is not yet known. Police is investigating.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed grief over the explosion incident in Gudamba.

Chief Minister wrote on Twitter that I express my condolences to the families of the deceased. The injured have been immediately taken to the hospital and the district administration officials have been instructed to provide them proper treatment. Along with this, he has also wished for the speedy recovery of the injured. The district administration officials have also been instructed to reach the spot and expedite the relief work.
