Guwahati, August 29: Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah said on Friday that the BJP government will free every inch of land encroached by intruders in Assam, no matter how much the opposition opposes.
Addressing the Panchayat Representative Conference organized at the Veterinary College Ground in Khanapara, Amit Shah said that the land of the sessions which was encroached by the intruders during the Congress regime has also been freed by the BJP government. He described it as one of the biggest achievements of Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma.
Home Minister said that the welfare schemes of the Central Government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi are reaching every village through the BJP government. As a result of this, the BJP got a record 76 percent vote share in the Panchayat elections.
Congratulating the newly elected representatives, he said that the BJP has done works like giving national identity to Mahapurush Srimanta Shankardev, taking forward the legacy of Mahabir Lachit Barphukan, installing the statue of Bodofa Upendranath Brahma in the national capital and building 10 new bridges on Brahmaputra. He said that today there is an atmosphere of peace in the entire North-East under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi.
Amit Shah said that fair appointments are being made in the BJP government, new investments are coming through ‘Advantage Assam’ and welfare schemes are being implemented successfully.
Attacking the opposition, Shah said, “Leaders who go to Pakistan repeatedly cannot lead Assam. Only Narendra Modi and Himanta Biswa Sarma can lead Assam.” He appealed to the people to form the BJP government for the third consecutive time.
Leaders of NDA allies – AGP President Atul Bora, Working President Keshav Mahanta, Gan Shakti President Parmanand Chayengia and Rabha Hasong leader Tankeshwar Rabha also addressed the gathering.
