Gautam Buddha Nagar, August 29: In Sector 62 police station area of โโGautam Buddha Nagar (Noida) district in Uttar Pradesh, an unknown person assaulted a retired IAS officer and his wife and looted their bag. A passerby clashed with the miscreant who was fleeing after looting and took back the looted bag from him, informed police.
In this incident, the miscreant assaulted the passerby. His clothes were torn and he also got injured. The victim has lodged a report of the incident in the police station last night.
Police station in-charge of Sector 58 police station Amit Kumar told that Sheela Devi, wife of a retired IAS officer, has lodged a report in the police station last night that she lives in Eros Apartment Government Housing Committee Sector 62. On August 25, she went to Delhi with her husband. From there, they took the metro train and reached Sector 62 in Noida at around 9:40 pm. They were going towards their house after getting down from the metro station when an unknown person hit Sheela Devi hard and she fell on the road. During this, the person looted her bag and ran away. Her bag contained two mobile phones, 1500 rupees cash, cheque book, metro card etc. While running away, the miscreant collided with a passerby and snatched the bag from him. The miscreant managed to escape.
He told that the victim has lodged a report in the police station on Thursday night.
The police station in-charge told that with the help of CCTV cameras installed around the incident site, the police is searching for the miscreant.
