ED attaches property worth crore of Chhangur- kingpin of illegal Islamic conversion

Lucknow, August 25: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Monday attached property worth โ‚น 13.02 crore of Jalaluddin alias Chhangur, the prime accused arrested in the Islamic conversion case from Utraula area of โ€‹โ€‹โ€‹โ€‹Balrampur district of Uttar Pradesh.

The ED wrote in a post on X on Monday that the ED office has provisionally attached 13 immovable properties worth Rs 13.02 crore located in Uttaraula, Balrampur district of Uttar Pradesh under the provisions of PMLA 2002. Which are for conspiracy related to illegal religious conversion, use of foreign funds and activities posing a potential threat to national security in the money laundering case related to Chhangur and others.

It is noteworthy that the teams investigating the conversion case had found many important clues, which revealed that Changur gets funding from abroad to convert Hindu girls. Evidence of crores of rupees coming from abroad in 40 accounts of him and his close ones was also found. After this, ED started its investigation.
