Uttar Pradesh/New Delhi, 20 August: The Jalalabad town located in Shahjahanpur district of Uttar Pradesh has been renamed as ‘Parshurampuri’.
The Union Home Ministry has given its consent to the proposal of the Uttar Pradesh government. In the order issued in this regard, it has been said that the Government of India has no objection to this name change and the state government should issue the necessary gazette notification.
After this decision, Union Minister of State for Commerce and Industry and Pilibhit MP Jitin Prasad expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on the social media platform X.
