It has been five days since the release of superstar Rajinikanth’s film ‘Coolie’. This action thriller, which hit the theatres on 14 August, has been doing brilliant at the box office since the beginning. The situation is such that in just five days, the film has crossed the Rs 200 crore mark at the domestic box office.
According to box office tracker Sacnilk, ‘Coolie’ earned Rs 12 crore on the fifth day of its release. With this, the total collection of the film has reached Rs 206.50 crore.
Rajinikanth starrer film had a blockbuster start with a brilliant figure of Rs 65 crore on the first day itself. On the second day, the film earned Rs 54.75 crore, on the third day Rs 39.5 crore and on the fourth day Rs 35.25 crore.
‘Coolie’ is directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, who has already made his mark with successful films like ‘Leo’ and ‘Master’. Stars like Nagarjuna Akkineni, Shruti Haasan, Soubin Shahir, Upendra, Sathyaraj and Rachita Ram have played important roles in the film, while Aamir Khan and Pooja Hegde appear in special cameos. Rajinikanth is playing the character of Deva in this film, in which his tremendous action and charismatic style is being liked by the audience.
Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR starrer ‘War 2’ was released in theatres on 14 August on the occasion of Independence Day. Although the film received mixed response from the audience and critics, it is still doing well at the box office. After earning a great amount in the first 4 days, pace has slowed down a bit.
According to the box office tracking website Sacnilk, ‘War 2’ earned only Rs 8.50 crore on the fifth day of its release. With this, the total box office collection of the film has gone up to Rs 183.25 crore. The film had a blockbuster start of Rs 52 crore on the first day. On the second day, its collection increased to Rs 57.35 crore. On the third day, it did a business of Rs 33.25 crore and on the fourth day, it did a business of Rs 32.15 crore.
‘War 2′ is directed by Ayan Mukherjee and it is the sixth installment of Yash Raj Films’ spy universe. The producer of the film is Aditya Chopra.
