New Delhi, 17 August: The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) has chosen CP Radhakrishnan for the post of Vice President. On Sunday, CP Radhakrishnan’s name was announced by BJP President JP Nadda. CP Radhakrishnan is currently the Governor of Maharashtra.
Giving information about the decisions after the BJP Parliamentary Board meeting on Sunday, JP Nadda said that today the Parliamentary Board meeting was held under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. All aspects were discussed for the name of the Vice President and suggestions were sought. After this it was decided that Maharashtra Governor CP Radhakrishnan will be made the NDA candidate as our Vice President candidate.
He said that the Bharatiya Janata Party hopes that the Vice President’s election is unanimous by contacting all the parties. That is why all of us have contacted almost all the political parties in the last one week, including our NDA allies and leaders of the opposition party. We have hoped that we will elect the Vice President unanimously.
On CP Radhakrishnan being nominated, Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted that in his long public life, Thiru C.P. Radhakrishnan ji has made his distinct identity with his dedication, humility and intelligence. While holding various positions, he has always focused on community service and empowerment of the underprivileged. He has done extensive work at the grassroots level in Tamil Nadu. He expressed happiness that the NDA family has decided to nominate him as the Vice Presidential candidate of our alliance.
Thiru C.P. Radhakrishnan ji has rich experience as an MP and Governor of various states. His parliamentary interventions have always been impressive. During his governorship tenure, he focused on resolving the challenges faced by common citizens. These experiences ensured that he has extensive knowledge of legislative and constitutional matters. I am sure that he will become an inspiring Vice President.
It is worth mentioning that CP Radhakrishnan is currently the Governor of Maharashtra. Before this, he was active in the BJP organization for a long time and was also elected as a Lok Sabha MP twice. He originally hails from Tirupur in Tamil Nadu. At the organizational level, he is considered a true volunteer of the RSS, that is, he is fully connected to the ideology and has been known as a leader who has worked at the grassroots level for a long time.
