Upset over not getting married, Bareilly man spreads rumours on Dial 112 for bombing Red Fort, held

Ghaziabad, August 12: The Ghaziabad police on Tuesday arrested a man for allegedly giving false information about blowing up the Red Fort in Delhi on August 15.

DCP Rural SN Tiwari said that on Monday, caller Asif informed on Dial-112 that Shadab Akhtar, Mohammad Miyan and Atar alias Bhola, who are his family members, are talking about blowing up the Red Fort in Delhi on August 15. On receiving the information, the Tronica City Police Station immediately reached the spot and upon investigation, it was found that the caller Asif alias Ashu lives in Hajiapur, Thana Baradari, District Bareilly (presently residing in Rajdhani Enclave Street No. 04, Rampark, Thana Tronica City, Commissionerate, Ghaziabad) and is addicted to drugs. He misled the emergency services by spreading rumors by giving false information that his father and brothers were going to blow up the historical heritage Red Fort in Delhi.

A case was registered against the accused at Thana Tronica City under Section 351(2)/353(1)(B) BNS. Asif alias Ashu was arrested from the police post Rampark, added DCP Rural.

During an interrogation, the accused said that I am addicted to drugs, my family members were not getting me married, due to which I was upset with my family members, to threaten them, I gave false information on Dial-112 in an inebriated state that my father and brothers were going to blow up the historical/heritage Red Fort with bombs. Earlier also I had given false information about planting bombs in Jama Masjid and Red Fort Delhi. In which Delhi Police arrested me and sent me to jail.
