Man arrested with fake currency in Ghaziabad

Ghaziabad, 06 August: The Indirapuram police station of Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh has arrested a man with fake notes. 566 fake notes of โ‚น 500 were recovered from him, which after counting amount to 02 lakh 83 thousand rupees. The youth circulated fake notes indiscriminately in NCR areas. Police is now finding out about his partner, whom he met through Facebook, police informed.

ACP Abhishek Srivastava told on Wednesday that Indirapuram police station has arrested Ujjwal Jha, resident of Sushila Garden, New Delhi, from near Sahibabad Railway Underpass Sector-1 Vasundhara. During interrogation, he told that he met a person through Facebook. After exchanging phone numbers, both started talking.

After this, he took fake currency worth Rs 3 lakh in exchange of real currency worth Rs 1 lakh from that person. He has been circulating fake notes in the NCR region for a long time. He had come to Ghaziabad to circulate those notes, when the police caught him.

ACP said that fake notes worth Rs 2.83 lakh have been recovered from the accused. A team has been deployed to find out who all are involved with him in this work. It will be revealed soon.
