Lucknow, 3 August: Corruption and nepotism dominated the recruitments in departments in Uttar Pradesh before the year 2017. During that time, money transactions, bidding and discrimination had darkened the future of the youth. This had a direct impact on the law and order of the state. Due to this, riots, anarchy, hooliganism, terrorist incidents increased and an atmosphere of insecurity was created among the public, said Yogi Adityanath.

Chief Minister was speaking at the program of appointment letter distribution to the selected assistant operators in the UP Police telecommunication Department on Sunday in Lucknow.

Yogi stated that sometimes there were attacks in the courts of Ayodhya, Kashi and Lucknow and sometimes terrorist attacks. During this time, CRPF Camp Rampur was also targeted. On the formation of the double engine government in the state in the year 2017, first of all big steps were taken to make the recruitment process transparent and fair.

Chief Minister distributed appointment letters to 1,494 assistant operators selected in the UP Police Telecom Department at the Indira Gandhi Pratishthan. During this, the CM distributed appointment letters to many selected candidates with his own hands.

Chief Minister said that the Police Recruitment Board was strengthened. As a result of this, Uttar Pradesh ranks first among the states providing maximum police recruitment and government jobs in the entire country. So far, our government has provided government jobs to eight and a half lakh youth, which is the largest figure in the entire country.

Recruitment of 2,17,500 candidates in the police force in eight years, the largest figure in the country

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that the historical changes that have come in the police recruitment process in the state after the year 2017 are not just a story of figures, but have become a symbol of a new identity, security and trust. From the year 2017 till now, more than 2 lakh 17 thousand 500 personnel have been recruited fairly and transparently in the Uttar Pradesh Police, which is the largest figure in the country.

Chief Minister said that in the last eight years, police lines, police headquarters and residential facilities have expanded rapidly in the state. He said that now the tallest and best building in any district is the police barracks. In 10 districts of the state, where there was no police line earlier, new police lines and headquarters have been built. The double engine government implemented the Police Commissionerate system which was pending since 1971-72. So far, 7 new Police Commissionerates have been created, which has increased both modernity and accountability in policing.

He said that today Uttar Pradesh Police has become a model force, which is becoming the identity of a riot-free, anarchy-free and safe state. At the same time, a provision of 20 percent reservation has been made in the police force to ensure the participation of women in the police department. Under this, about 300 daughters have been selected among the 1,494 candidates selected in the Telecom Department. At the same time, this number will be increased further in the coming time.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that a decision has been taken to give 20 percent reservation to Agniveers in the police department of Uttar Pradesh. This will enable trained and disciplined youth to become a part of the police force.

Praising the excellent work of the telecom department in the Maha Kumbh, the CM said that the communication system is the backbone of any police force. The responsibility of the communication and telecom police is no less in a state with a population of 25 crores.
