Varanasi, July 25: A situation of tension arose on Friday over the Mazar of Syed Baba built on the road in Mirapur Bashi, located in Shivpur police station area in Varanasi district of Uttar Pradesh. After an advocate announced to recite Hanuman Chalisa at the Mazar, chaos erupted among the police-administration. As a precaution, heavy police force has been deployed on the spot.

In fact, Advocate Vineet Kumar Singh had submitted a letter to the District Magistrate and complained that due to the Mazar in the middle of the road on Bhojubeer-Sindhora road, there is a situation of traffic-jam every day, due to which the passersby face a lot of trouble.

The advocate had appealed to the administration to find a quick solution to this problem. Seeing no concrete action from the administration, the advocate announced to recite Hanuman Chalisa at the Mazar on Friday. After this announcement, the police administration came into action. Shivpur police station in-charge and ACP Cantt Nitin Taneja himself reached the spot and patrolled the area and kept an eye on the situation.

The advocate has been put under house arrest for the time being and additional police force has been deployed around the shrine so that no communal tension or law and order problem arises.

On the other hand, advocate Vineet Singh has written on his social media account that this shrine located in Mirapur Bashi is not being removed despite being in the middle of the road for many years. Whereas the government of Uttar Pradesh has a clear policy that the temples and mosques encroaching on the road should be removed and established somewhere else. Many ancient temples of Kashi have been removed and established at other places. Earlier also we had given a memorandum regarding this shrine. If the administration takes action then it is fine, otherwise the way to protest is open.
