Hisar, 7 July : The court has again sent YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra, who was arrested on charges of spying for Pakistan, to judicial custody for 14 days. Jyoti appeared for the sixth time on Monday.
While hearing during appearance through VC, the court gave instructions to send her to judicial custody again.
Hisar resident Jyoti Malhotra was arrested in May on charges of spying for Pakistan . Jyoti’s spying came to light during ‘Operation Sindoor’ being run by the Indian Army and during that time the police arrested her.
She was once again sent to judicial custody for 14 days on Monday. Earlier also she was sent to judicial custody for 4 days. Now she will appear again on July 21.
On the other hand, another new revelation has been made in the YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra case.
The petition filed under RTI has revealed that Jyoti went to Kerala on the invitation of the state government . Tourism Minister PA Mohamed Riyaz in the Kerala government has also clarified that many bloggers including Jyoti were called to Kerala so that they can spread Kerala’s tourism in the country and the world. Their expenses were borne by the government.
According to the minister, we had invited YouTubers to Kerala with good intentions. Everyone knows about this. This has happened before as well. Do you think that the state government invited Jyoti for spying and she was given all the related help?
According to the information revealed from RTI, Jyoti Malhotra had visited Kochi, Kannur, Kozhikode, Alappuzha, Munnar and Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala. During this time she made videos and uploaded them on the YouTube channel on January 31 this year.
During this time, Jyoti stayed at Jandri Riverscapes Houseboat in Kerala, in which the rent for one night stay is about 15 thousand rupees per day. However, this expense was borne by the government. BJP has surrounded the Kerala government over the new revelations on Jyoti.
Party spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla said that RTI shows that Pakistani spy Jyoti Malhotra came to Kerala on the invitation of the Left government and was in a way a guest of the state courtesy of the Tourism Department . The Left welcomed the Pak spies by rolling out the red carpet. Poonawala said that Tourism Minister Mohammed Riyas is the son-in-law of Kerala CM Vijayan. He should be dismissed and an investigation should be conducted against him.
Police’s hands are empty, nothing was found
Meanwhile, Jyoti’s lawyer Kumar Mukesh says that even after 52 days of Jyoti’s arrest, the police’s hands are empty. Police have not found anything from Jyoti’s accounts, mobile and laptop data. Police are just beating around the bush in this case. At the same time, Jyoti’s investigating officer Nirmala says that Jyoti’s case is still being investigated and they cannot say anything about it until the investigation is completed.
Hisar resident Jyoti Malhotra was arrested by the police from her house on May 16 after interrogation. After this, police and central agencies interrogated Jyoti separately. Jyoti was also investigated for spying for Pakistan and terror connection in the Pahalgam case. However, what came out in the investigation will be clear in the police charge sheet. Police has taken Jyoti’s 9-day remand.
