Lucknow, 04 July: The state government has taken another major step in the field of education and has decided to strengthen the aided primary schools. Under this, free and quality education will be provided to the economically weaker sections, especially the Scheduled Castes-Tribes and children living below the poverty line, through the schools run through the Social Welfare Department.
At present, 448 aided primary schools in Uttar Pradesh are being operated by getting recognition from the Basic Education Department and grant from the Social Welfare Department. The primary objective of these schools is to provide quality education to the children of the weakest sections of the society. These especially include children from Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and economically backward families.
The vision of the government is that no child should be deprived of education due to financial constraints. Along with free education in subsidized primary schools, special attention is being paid to the availability of modern teaching methods, better infrastructure and trained teachers. Textbooks, uniforms and other educational material are also provided free of cost in these schools, so that the financial burden on the parents of the children is reduced.
The government has given top priority to transparency and accountability in the operation of subsidized schools. The process of grants has been made digital and time-bound by the Social Welfare Department, so that there is no misuse of funds. It should be ensured that the grants are spent directly on the development of schools and the education of children. For this, arrangements for regular inspection and audit have been made. Also, the recruitment and training process of teachers in these schools is also being strengthened further, so that there is no shortage in the quality of education.
Through subsidized schools, children from Scheduled Castes-Tribes and below poverty line are being connected to mainstream education. This not only ensures their educational progress, but also strengthens their confidence and future prospects. This policy of the Yogi government is realizing the principle of ‘Sabko Shiksha, Sabka Samman’.
Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Social Welfare Department, Asim Arun, said on Friday that the priority of the state government is to provide quality education to the person standing at the last rung of the society. Through subsidized primary schools, we are ensuring that the children of Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and economically weaker section get proper educational resources. Continuous monitoring is being done to ensure transparency, accountability and quality in these schools. Our effort is to make Uttar Pradesh an example in the field of education as well.
