Positive word-of-mouth gives boost to Kajol’s film ‘Maa’ at the BO

Kajol’s horror-mythological film ‘Maa’ is currently running in theatres. The film is also performing well at the box office as the film is gaining audience appreciation. This film is Kajol’s comeback on the big screen after almost three years. Now the box office collections of the film’s second day have come out.

Kajol’s film ‘Maa’ made its debut at the box office with an opening of Rs 4.65 crore on Friday. On Saturday, the film’s earnings witnessed a jump in theaters. Taking advantage of the weekend, ‘Maa’ did a business of Rs 6.18 crore on Saturday. In this way, the total earnings of the film in two days have reached Rs 10.83 crore. Now all eyes are on Sunday’s collections, due to which it is expected that the film will do good business.

On the other hand, Aamir Khan’s film ‘Sitare Zameen Par’ has been ruling the hearts of the audience since its first day of release. It has entered the 100 crore club in India by earning a strong amount of Rs 13.63 crore on its 9th day. So far, the total box office collection of the film has been Rs 109.55 crore. It has become the seventh highest grossing film of Aamir Khan’s career. The special thing is that in this film, Aamir is seen sharing the screen with Genelia D’Souza for the first time.

On the other hand, the presence of big stars like Akshay Kumar, Mohanlal and Prabhas in Vishnu Manchu’s film ‘Kannappa’, which was released along with Kajol’s film ‘Maa’, caught the attention of the audience. The film had a great start by earning Rs 9.35 crore on the first day. However, the film’s pace slowed down on the second day and its collection fell to just Rs 7 crore on Saturday. Thus, ‘Kannappa’ has grossed a total of Rs 16.35 crore in two days
