New Delhi, June 28: So far, 13 people, including several Pakistani army personnel, were killed while 29 others were injured in a suicide bomb blast in Pakistan’s northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on Saturday. The attack took place in the afternoon when a suicide bomber rammed a vehicle loaded with explosives into an army convoy.
According to news agency Xinhua, the attack took place on Saturday afternoon in North Waziristan district of northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. Local police are investigating the attack.
According to Pakistan’s Arab News, 13 military personnel are among those killed in the attack. 10 military personnel and 19 civilians have been injured in the blast. The local police have reached the spot and started investigation and the surrounding area has been cordoned off. The explosion was so powerful that the roofs of two houses collapsed due to its impact, injuring six children. The injured have been admitted to nearby hospitals, where the condition of four soldiers remains critical.
It is worth mentioning that terrorist activities have been taking place in this area earlier as well. Many terrorist organizations like Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) are active in this area. North Waziristan has been a center of terrorist activities for a long time and the army has carried out anti-terrorism operations here many times.
